

Pushing Limits
Someone recently called me out on a painting I posted on facebook. Called me an experimental artist. I think he was right. I'm working on ideas I suspect might work, ones I'm not sure about. Pushing the envelope a little bit at a time to discover what makes my art tick. This piece was an exploration between the tension of a lot of heavy paint and keeping an integral drawing. I think it worked. Pushing Limits, 12x24 oil on board.


The Better of Me
Kind of struggling with this piece. Started listening to my self talk...the house is important to me symbolically and in the painting...the road and telephone wires too. The idea of safety at home - physical safety for sure - this place seems a bit remote - but emotional safety and just being able to be okay with the stuff in the world moving by.
